On the RISE Jen Holland is takin over...

Jennifer A Holland, aka, Jen Holland is what some may call a genius of versatility The multi-cultured beauty raised in New York's Lower East Side writes her own songs and performs them with an energenic soul and dramatic stage presence. Prince, Tina Turner, AAliyah, were all insprirations as were DAngelio, Tu Pac, Yaz, Wu Tang and Missy Elliot.

Jen started in the arts at an early age studing tap and modern dance under the direction of Choregrapher Joetta Cherry. She later attended The Third Street Music School in New York City and trained in voice stage performance. By the age of 13 she had the oppurtunity to sing and professionally record vocals for The Care Organization's national ad campaign song. While attending The High School of Performing Arts she joined the Gospel Chorus and started to develop the soulful R & B side of her voice while studing music theroy .

During that time she appeared on a dance show called "Its Dance" that aired on WB Channel 11 for 26 weeks. While taping the show, she met a hip hop group that was newly signed to Select Records and was asked to sing back up vocals and be in their music video which played on MTV and Video Music Boxs for months. She began to write her own material and record her own songs with the collaboration from different producers; Moni D & Maximil and Big Deal who connected her to Global Management Records who hired her to sing on one of their up coming artist albums. Jen was also hired to sing for ILL KID Records for one of their artists, Kreem.com.

Jen Holland is also in a hip hop / soul band called JC-One who opened up for soul artist BILAL at CBGBs in New York City. She has perfomed and many other venues including,CBGB, The Miller Theater, Joes Public Theater, Nuyorican Cafe, Baggot Inn & Parkside Lounge. She recently performed her solo act at Downtime in NYC. Jen can be heard singing on underground albums with Guru of Gangstar, Killah Priest, Devine & Big Deal

Jen Holland is bringing something fresh to the table with her new-ish R & B w/ an edge, stlye and war like tactics. With her talent and spirit she's destined for greatness
