In Graham Bruce's musical career, there is a true kinship with the spirit
of Henry Miller, a constant seeker of the magic of the moment, a trooper
in the quest for creation. Unknowingly, Graham followed the early Duke
Ellington in the use of his graphic arts abilities to promote his musical
endeavors. Although his very earliest musical attempts were focused
on rhythm, his harmonic and melodic sensibilities were encouraged when
he inherited his maternal grandfather`s trumpet. Always a listener,
he tried to absorb every tune he heard and transcribed solos that seemed
to tell a story or paint a picture.
